The Spyderco PITS 2 (Pie in the Sky) is a masterclass in non-locking knife design, born from the mind of British knifemaker Mike Read. This second-generation SLIPIT folder features a truly unique mechanism: two integral spring arms machined directly into the 6AL-4V titanium handle scales. These arms flex during blade deployment, applying pressure to the notched-joint mechanism and stop pin—delivering secure, confident blade retention without a lock.
The blade is crafted from Böhler M398 particle metallurgy stainless steel, offering exceptional wear resistance, edge retention, and corrosion protection. Its full-flat grind and satin finish enhance slicing performance and visual appeal. The symmetrical design, Trademark Round Hole, and reversible deep-carry clip make the PITS 2 fully ambidextrous and ideal for urban carry where locking knives may be restricted.
